To shift current narratives about data, we first need to know what they are.
This project aims to identify and understand the discourse on data used for governance and control, and policy in El Salvador, Brazil, Türkiye, Sudan, and India. Employing Stichting Global Voices' tested Civic Media Observatory methods, this team will map how data is discussed and framed, and who benefits from different narratives about the effects of data.
Through a creative presentation of insights, stories, and analysis, this project aims to help policymakers and civilians develop community-centered approaches for future data policy.
