STOP fights to abolish local governments’ systems of mass surveillance. By targeting agencies’ abuse of data rather than only data collection, this project ensures that technological advancements don’t come at the expense of age-old rights. But change cannot be achieved unless the data debate is democratized.
This team builds coalitions, capacity, and shared knowledge, bringing much-needed attention to surveillance issues, demystifying complex spy tools, and countering dangerous narratives pushed by police, tech vendors, and the media.
